About Something Stinks...
I am Jean Blaine and I live on the Tar River at Cannady's Mill Road Bridge, right where Creedmoor intends to dump the sewage effluent into the Tar River over an aeration cascade. That explains why I initially started gathering information on the Creedmoor sewage plant after I first heard about it in August 2012 -- I didn't want it on this beautiful scenic stretch of the Tar River. The more I found out, the less sense it made. It is now way beyond being about me and my land. This is a very STINKY idea.
It's not been easy gathering the information about Creedmoor's plans. The City of Creedmoor held no public sessions to inform the public of their intent, they did not notify adjacent landowners about plant location and discharge point, and so made no effort to build support. They have never explained why the plant is needed, except to claim that SGWASA cannot meet Creedmoor's need when SGWASA says that it can. They even ran the ad to notify everyone in Creedmoor of the proposed plant in the Oxford Ledger and not the Butner-Creedmoor News.
I want to shine a light on the goings on so that people in the communities that are going to be hurt by Creedmoor's sewage plant will know just what IS going on. I did read Creedmoor's Environmental Assessment (EA) and the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER), both 500 page documents. I have posted most of the agencies’ and other towns' comments on those documents on this website. A lot of your friends and neighbors wrote thoughtful comments opposing the plant. All of this is public record. You can read my comments here.
Since the Creedmoor City Commissioners do not seem interested in being transparent, I am committed to getting the information out to you so that you can decide. If you have any questions or comments, or have information to share please email me at info@somethingstinksincreedmoor.com.
Thanks!
