Smoke and Mirrors

Got 2 comments/questions yesterday about the Hester Road land deal, so thought I would post the documents connected to it that so you can see the terrific deal your Commissioners negotiated for the benefit of the citizens.  The documents relating to the purchase of lands from Goldston on Hester Road are here and here.  And the minutes from the closed meeting convened to complete the purchases are here. The Commissioners voted unanimously in May 2013 to purchase both tracts, so no sign yet that they aren’t all hanging together.

The purchases raise 3 big questions and concerns.  And YES there are special sewer/water considerations given to Goldston for the land.

1)    The sewage plant will severely financially penalize the citizens of Creedmoor but will substantially increase the value of the other Goldston property in the area and that holding in particular.

2)    It would appear that with the special considerations granted Goldston that the City paid well above market value.  There is no evidence of an independent property appraisal on either tract.  I requested this from the City on June 12 along with the purchase and contract agreements. Received the latter but NO property appraisal appears to have been done. (It’s easy to spend money when it doesn’t belong to you!)

3)  It appears both properties were purchased under a front organization (Granville Holdings, LLC) to avoid the required notification of adjacent property owners.

Another instance of fat cat commissioners…

Have you checked for property ownership interests by the Mayor, the commissioners and "other important folks" along the route of the new sewer lines? Think you might even want to back up and check ownership interests along Hwy 56 where they ran lines a couple of years ago down to Wilton... don't miss delving into who's behind some "Inc.'s" and "LLC's"... hint, hint.

Aren't they required to notify local property owners and hold some sort of public meetings on these big projects? Whose sewer project is this, Creedmoor's or the federal government's? Who is our Cogressional representative for Creedmoor? Has he been contacted about all this mess? What did he say about it?
