Something Stinks in Creedmoor!

The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners KNOW that their pursuit of the totally unnecessary, environmentally destructive, and financially insane sewer plant has cost the citizens of Creedmoor millions of dollars in unnecessary expenses over the last seven years. The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners apparently aren’t bothered that the money has come right out of YOUR pockets and down their bottomless vanity pit. The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners are still in hot pursuit of this idea, even though Granville County has united in opposition, including the citizens of Creedmoor whom they are elected to represent! The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners just don’t get it, and certainly are not working for the benefit of the folks that live here in Creedmoor. The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners are negligent in trying to saddle the Citizens they are supposed to serve with both the highest monthly sewer and water bills in the area and a $51 million dollar debt obligation for the construction of this fiscally irresponsible sewage plant. …and that’s why Something truly does Stink in Creedmoor! Last March(2013) The Mayor said,
“The primary options before us seem to be choosing a regional solution with SGWASA or a stand-alone approach with our own plant on the Tar River. Both options have its pros and cons but I support combining our system with SGWASA. We are in a situation where, finally, there is an offer for what we have asked for - a rate reduction for our citizens, a financial offer for our system, and allocation which will allow us to continue to grow and develop. For me, this is the best decision for our community and the region.” According to The Mayor, there were 3 conditions that needed to be met before Creedmoor would consent to join SGWASA. According to The Mayor, all 3 conditions were met, and all 3 were in the offer from SGWASA made August 2012 (read here.) The Mayor claimed in March, 2013, he’s satisfied with the offer SGWASA made in August of 2012. SGWASA gave Creedmoor EVERYTHING IT HAD ASKED FOR in the August 2012 offer. So, what has happened since last March, when the Mayor made his sweet speech and gave his solemn pledge of support? Why don’t SGWASA and The “City” have a contract? Because The “City” is purposefully negotiating in bad faith. The “City” keeps deceitfully changing the terms. The latest example of bad faith is a new demand from Creedmoor for $23 Million from SGWASA - a $10 million increase from March of 2013 when The Mayor assured the citizens he was satisfied with the terms offered. In Truth, The “City” has upped the demand to $23 million because The Mayor and the ‘Ommissioners don’t want to join SGWASA at all. The “City” is conniving, scheming, DELAYING, hoping that USDA RD will approve the boondoggle Hester Road sewage plant over the objections of everybody in the state. It is a willful betrayal of trust by The Mayor. And as the price continues to grow, so grows the Mayor’s nose. The “City” continues to scheme and to waste the citizen’s hard-earned money on land, plans, legal fees and paid consultants for a sewage plant that is not needed, is environmentally destructive, and financially insane. Who knows when the Mayor is believable? We appear to have a Pinocchioing Mayor in Creedmoor – a puppet who struggles with the truth while "negotiating" a contract with endless strings attached. Say one thing. DO another. That’s why… Something Stinks in Creedmoor!
Pedal to the Metal! Eudy on Duty!!
C-moor Sign Patrolman Danny Eudy certainly set off a firestorm of comments in the last post with this letter! Sign Patrolman Danny demonstrated with his letter that he is really, really quick to spot a violation. You’ll note the letter is dated July 23, 2013 (coincidentally the date of the last ‘Ommissioners’ Meeting) for alleged “offenses” that were evidently not even committed until July 31, 2013! What foresight! Now, THAT’s a valuable employee, a man with a vision – a man who can predict the future! Shouldn’t quibble; however, Sign Patrolman Danny’s letter required a response by August 10 but wasn’t postmarked until August 14, long after the response was required. Does it really take that long to pedal to the post office from city hall? Is Eudy doing his duty? Or does... Something Stinks in Creedmoor!
The farce is with us!!
In the fight to Save the Tar, Darryl Vader and The 'Ommissioners have sent in the dreaded Storm Troopers! Read this now! Don't skip it. Abuse of power....One more reason... Something Stinks in Creedmoor!
Darryl Vader - The Farce Be With You!
Lots of folks here in Granville County are opposed to the unnecessary, environmentally destructive, and financially insane sewage plant The ‘Ommissioners want to build on Hester Road. Chris Crowder and his family live near the site. Here’s what he thinks about it. Ran in Monday’s Oxford Ledger. Another reason... Something Stinks in Creedmoor!
Wilton Slopes Park
Everyone may need a reminder that there is a whole lot more bad news about this sewage plant than the financial disaster it will be for the citizens of Creedmoor and southern Granville County.
It’s also going to cause permanent, irreversible environmental destruction to the Wilton Slopes area of the Tar River. Marshall Floyd, who lives on Fishing Creek, wrote an excellent letter to USDA RD from someone who knows the river and loves it. Please, read that comment here. One more reason... Darryl and The Dominators
Mayor Moss and The ‘Ommissioners have very expensive tastes, supported by the taxpayers of Creedmoor. The greatest example of their “wasteful” spending of public funds is the unnecessary, environmentally destructive, and financially insane sewage plant on Hester Road.
The cost of the plant to the 4,200 citizens of Creedmoor will be $51 million. That’s $12,500 bucks of new debt for each of the 4,200 folks that live in Creedmoor, that includes hubby, the 3rd grader, and the brand new diaper user. For the typical family of four living in Creedmoor, The Mayor and The ’Ommissioners are getting ready to add a new $50,000 tax obligation to your personal credit card. Let’s think about this. Your family already have water and sewer, don’t you? SGWASA has the capacity to serve Creedmoor’s needs for the next 20 years (that’s running Creedmoor’s exaggerated growth projections, too!). So, why are the The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners asking you to fund this plant? The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners would rather stick you and your family with a $50,000 tax obligation than lose control, and lose their little “slush” fund! It’s why... Something Stinks in Creedmoor!
Flush with money!
“Just saw in the newspaper where the city of Butner bought a piece of property on Central Avenue. The owner of the property wanted over $500,000 for it. Lo and behold, Butner paid for an appraisal and the land appraised for $300,000.00. Butner actually saved its citizenry $200,000 and threw "at arm's length" out the window!!!! Looks like Creedmoor needs to take lessons from Butner.”
Comment by “Inflamed”. In case you missed it, front page article in The Butner Creedmoor News on Thursday, August 8, “Butner Agrees to Purchase Land Next to Gazebo Park” Another confirmation the folks in Creedmoor got rolled by The Mayor and The ‘Ommissioners who continue to throw taxpayer’s hard-earned money at an unnecessary, environmentally destructive, and financially insane sewage plant. And that’s many folks’ “arms length” assessment of why... Something Stinks in Creedmoor! |
