So, Who wants this SEWAGE plant?

The Creedmoor City Commissioners.
By law, the Commissioners were required to do an Environmental Impact study and an Engineering Report. It is NOT easy reading, but a whole lot of people read and commented on it. A lot of those comments were published in the local newspapers for other folks to see and get some information. And when folks found out what was going on, they wrote their own letters.
But the people who did respond were dismissed by their own elected officials, this is a quote from the Commissioners written response.
“The majority of the comments keyed off others.”
What were they supposed to key off of?!
There was no information from the Creedmoor Commissioners except for the two 500 page documents that they sure hoped no one would read! They wanted to build this sewage plant without your input. And they have almost succeeded.
They haven’t held any public forums to “test the waters” with the local citizenry. They are afraid to. The reponse to the sewage plant has been universally negative. But The Comissioners want to build it no matter what.
On May 31 they bought land on Hester Road for the plant and have figured out how to annex it into the city limits. They also bought land on Cannadys Mill Road to build a sewer cascade to discharge the effluent into the Tar River. The county will have to agree to the rezoning on that land.
Write them. Write them all. Call them. Email them. Tell them who you are, where you live, why you object. Ask for a response. Even if you can not vote for an official, you live here in Granville County. This sewage plant impacts us all.
